Mount Desert Island Hospital (“MDIH”) and Birch Bay Retirement Village (“BBRV”) (together, “we”, “us”, or “our”) take seriously our responsibility to protect the privacy and security of information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to MDIH’s patient portal.  The patient portal is subject to separate terms and conditions.  Additionally, “protected health information” subject to protection under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and its regulations are subject to different rules. You have the option of paying a bill from MDIH by clicking a link on the MDIH website. This link will take you to a third-party’s website, operated by .  Cerner collects your personal information to process your bill payment.

MDIH offers the option of creating a patient portal that allows patients to send messages and view their medical records.  The MDIH website has a link to a patient portal registration form that is maintained by a third party, . This third party collects your information to register patients for the portal. The patient portal is subject to separate terms and conditions.

We take seriously the security of the information that we collect on our websites. We take reasonable measures to ensure the security of information, . While we take steps to protect the security of information that we maintain, we cannot guarantee that the security of information will never be compromised.
